If you are registered for a course but can't find it on your Canvas Dashboard (the default screen when you sign into Canvas), here are some possible reasons:


  • If you've only just recently added / registered for the class to your schedule, it's possible your registration hasn't been fully processed yet in the computer system. If more than one business day has passed since you first added / registered for the class, please let us know so we can help you investigate the issue!
  • Your instructor has not yet made the course visible to students. Some teachers prefer to not make the course content visible until the first day of class. If it is the first day of class (or beyond!) and you still cannot see the course on your Dashboard, please let us know!
  • The course has ended and now it's only showing on your All Courses list. Click https://tocc.instructure.com/courses and see if your course is here. If you'd like to add it to your Canvas Dashboard, click on the star to the left of the class listing to make it show up on your Courses menu and Dashboard.
