Occasionally your Gmail account may ask you for additional identity verification when signing in, especially if you haven't signed in for a long time, or you're using a new device to sign in. This is usually not an issue so long as you can receive a text or phone call at the number associated with your account. However, this can be an issue when you no longer control that phone number (such as if you've cancelled your phone service or got a new number).

If you get a request for verification and you now longer have the phone number in question, look carefully at the options that Gmail gives you. Usually the 3rd or 4th option says, "Confirm your recovery phone number," which just requires you to type out the full number (but you won't need to receive a call or text on that number which you don't have any more). So go ahead and just type out your old phone number, and we hope that is enough to get you through the verification!

Afterward, we recommend that you update your student records with Admissions so that this old number is no longer listed in your files. Attached is the Change of Student Data form for your convenience.
